Frost Valley Environmental Education Adventure 2006

"I had many great and educational experiences on our trip to Frost Valley. I learned about macro-and micro-ecology, aerodynamics of birds, and brain trivia in extremely fun ways. This is the best place I have ever been to and thank you for giving us a grant to make education into 'fun-ucation.'"

From May 22 - 24, Mrs. Herzog brought a team of Mott Hall seventh graders to experience and learn about the beautiful Catskill Mountains and its precious watershed at The Frost Valley YMCA Environmental Education Center in Claryville, New York. This would not have been possible without the generosity of the Catskill Watershed Corporation and Watershed Agricultural Council's Bus Tour Grant Program, which is kindly administered by The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development

Special Thanks go to: Diane Galusha, Catskill Watershed Corporation, Jessica Olenych, Catskill Center, and Elizi and the other great Frost Valley Counselors

"I learned about many kinds of animals including insects. Now I know how to tell if a newt is a male or female. In the campfire I learned new songs, and I tried Smores for the first time. I learning so many things and more, and had the time of my life. Frost Valley was awesome, and it was an experience I will never forget."
"I was so privileged to get to come [to Frost Valley] and I am VERY happy I did. I would have never imagined myself walking through the woods for 4 straight hours, and I can’t believe I actually did. Then we got to a BEAUTIFUL waterfall, and I felt like never before…”
